SKILLS
SOFTWARE
MICROSOFT OFFICE
I use Office programs for personal use and for nearly all of my assignments.
MATLAB
I completed CS 1371 "Computing For Engineers" in Fall 2020 where I solved weekly coding problem sets. I continue to use MATLAB in my other classes, like creating an equation-solving algorithm for jet engine design.
PYTHON
I studied Python for a semester in high school and coded using the program during the MIT Beaver Works program.
SOLIDWORKS
I completed ME 1770 "Introduction to Engineering Graphics" where I used SOLIDWORKS to complete a team and individual project. My individual project was a Tech Tower Rubik's Cube and my team project was a concept for an RV that converts into a mobile playground.
AUTOCAD
I learned the basic functions of AutoCAD from makerspace Prototyping Instructors but I gained hands-on experience when working on personal laser-cut wood projects.
OPENROCKET
One of the main projects in my AE 1601 "Introduction to Aerodynamics" class was to work with a team and create a model rocket that goes as close to 125 feet in the air without going over. We also needed to include certain required components and could only launch that one time. We modeled in OpenRocket and used the graphing functions to approximate the flight path and our rocket was actually the closest to the target height out of my professor's three sections with a height of 123 feet.
CURA
I went through a 3D Printing Certification test at the Invention Studio on campus and needed to demonstrate my ability to use Cura to prepare the files for printing, including proper infill ranges, slicing, and creating supports.
AIRTABLE
In my position as Special Projects Manager, I utilize Airtable to keep track of sponsor contact information and manage Capstone Expo data.
MAILCHIMP
I utilize MailChimp as Special Projects Manager for mail merge and email blasts to sponsors and makerspace enthusiasts.
SAGE
During my internship at Kinematica USA, I used Sage to process orders and manage two warehouses of inventory.
SAP
At Kinematica USA, I utilized SAP to analyze cross-department data, from measuring individual worker sales to creating a global consumer map.
QUICKBOOKS
At Kinematica USA, QuickBooks was the primary method of creating and keeping track of orders. I created packing slips and kept track of all invoices that came through the warehouse.
EQUIPMENT
OMAX MAXIEM WATERJET
I attend training at the Aerospace Machine Shop and shadow the production so I can manufacture my own parts for projects.
CAMASTER CNC
In my free time, I enjoy completing personal projects through the Aero Maker Space. I teach myself how to use the software and equipment.
ULTIMAKER 3D PRINTER
As Special Projects Manager, I analyze the Invention Studio's metrics, including equipment. I learned how to use all the equipment and software in the Studio so I understand what I am reporting on.
FUSION 40 LASER CUTTER
In my free time, I enjoy completing personal projects through the Aero Maker Space. I teach myself how to use the software and equipment.
PROTOTRAK LATHE AND MILL
I attend training at the Aerospace Machine Shop and shadow the production so I can manufacture my own parts for projects.
CRAFTING
In the Invention Studio, I learned to use the embroidery machine, Cricut vinyl cutter, and miscellaneous crafting machines.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
SPANISH (ADVANCED)
I studied Spanish for 7 years and earned the New York State Seal of Biliteracy in 2020.
COMMUNICATION
In the Civil Air Patrol, I served as the point of contact between adult leadership and cadets. For my current job, I maintain communications between corporate sponsors.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I hosted a social media takeover of the GlamourGals Instagram page to lead up to their 2020Â virtual awards ceremony. I created digital content to promote our message and advertise to potential sponsors.
LEADERSHIP
In the Civil Air Patrol, I had a staff of people under me that I worked closely with. I treated them equally but according to their positions. I learned how to delegate responsibilities and lead the group towards success.
COLLABORATION
For my Global Leadership class, my final project was a group proposal of a recycling initiative on campus. This project taught me to collaborate with others, even virtually.
TIME MANAGEMENT
I am currently part of a Vertically Integrated Project Team, leading the development of a tabletop wind tunnel. I am doing this alongside my regular schoolwork and a part time job, but I still make sure to have time to socialize.
DATA ANALYSIS
As Special Projects Manager, every week I create reports based on the usage of campus makerspaces and social media analytics. The reports provide information necessary for machine maintenance and data required for sponsor outreach.
CREATIVITY
I spend a lot of my free time in the makerspaces on campus creating decorative and useful items. My outside-the-box thinking allows me to think of alternative solutions to problems.
PUBLIC SPEAKING
I gave a speech at a town hall to advocate for additional STEM funding in Long Island public schools. Additionally, in the Civil Air Patrol, my responsibilities included presenting in front of military personnel, teaching classes, and leading drill routines.
MARKETING
In the Civil Air Patrol, I served as the Recruitment and Retention Officer for 2 years. My responsibilities included planning open houses and advertising our program to the public.
INTERCULTURAL AWARENESS
I have taken part in the 2021 ICEBERG Intercultural Awareness Series and have traveled to many different countries. These experiences have given me a global perspective that is understanding and respectful of other cultures.
WILLING TO LEARN
I believe that one is never done learning and I'm always looking for ways to advance myself. I pursue learning outside the classroom by getting certified to use campus machinery and reading beyond the required materials in class.
